This scientific research has found that this peat deposit is alkaline with a pH of 7-8 and contains significant quantities of the two predominant humate compounds, humic and fulvic acids, also there are minor amounts of phenolic acid, calcium huminate, a degradation of lignans, shell remnants, calcareous materials, sand and other minerals in trace form.

Research results shows that Humifulvate prevents mineral toxicity by chelating poisonous metals; such as Cadmium, Lead, Mercury, and Aluminium.
