Apricot Kernels - Announcement

We regret to announce that Health Leads are no longer selling Apricot Kernels following consultations with the Food Standard Agency who are implementing a new 2017 EU/UK Law severely restricting the use of these seeds.

We had explored the possibility of sales for non-consumable use i.e. cosmetic use, but this is not possible as the product still falls under the legal definition of a food.

In good faith we must advise any resellers to discontinue marketing and selling these products.

Last year saw a high profile case of a man using these seeds over a number of years and this may have added to the crackdown alongside the new EU Law.

We apologise for the inconvenience and trust you appreciate the position we are in having discussed this difficult issue at length with the relevant authorities.

We remain committed to bringing you the best quality natural health products where the Law does not restrict us.

Kind Regards

Vitamin D and Asthma

September 6 2016

According to BBC News today, taking Vitamin D supplements in addition to asthma medication appears to cut the risk of severe asthma attacks. An independent review by the Cochrane research body of nine clinical trials found it also cut the rate of asthma attacks needing steroid treatment. Whilst acknowledging that "more studies are needed" the lead author, Professor Adrian Martineau, said they found vitamin D "significantly reduced the risk of severe asthma attacks, without causing side effects".

This comes on the back of a government-commissioned report in july that recommended levels at 10 micrograms of the vitamin a day for every person over the wintertime.

New Website Launched!

August 1 2016

Our brilliant new website was launched today. After months of work on design and integration the site is up and running and is working well.

What are some of the improved features?

Marketing Manager, Mr Paul Harriss explains: "Our previous website had been in operation for over ten years and although much loved, we wanted to create a new site with a modern look and yet staying true to the original site where possible. The new site is compatable with tablets and smart phones which will make ordering easier for many of our customers. In addition, the functionality means that you should only be a couple of clicks away from the product of choice."

As a special introductory offer, when you register and log on we will give you 3 loyalty points every day you visit us until the end of the month. So feel free to have a good look around and let us know your thoughts!
