Chamomile (oil applied topically) assits the treatment of eczema, hives and itching. It can also improve the texture of the skin. may also reduce the damage to skin caused by ultraviolet radiation. Applied topicaly - accelerates the healing of wounds.
Frankincense oil possesses anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties and may aid in reducing inflammation. Research into anti-viral properties is promising.
Lavender oil applied topically is calming and inhibits some types of detrimental fungi. Highly diluted oil applied topically is calming and inhibits some types of detrimental fungi. Myrrh (tincture or oil gargled or applied topically) reduces dental abscesses and gingivitis. German and British regulatory authorities have approved the use of myrrh for the treatment of sore throat (phanryngitis) and mouth ulcers. Stimulates macrophage activity.
Origanum vulgare is believed to be the superior species of Oregano for use in the preparation of oregano oil as this species contains much higher quantities of the two most active constituents - Carvacrol and Thymol. Tea Tree oil (applied topically) may inhibit detrimental fungi on the skin and within the vagina. Terpineol is responsible for many of the therapeutic benefits of Tea Tree oil.
