What is L-Ornithine?

Amino acids are the building block of the body. L-Ornithine is produced in the body, and is used in making protein structures, including muscle tissue.

What does L-Ornithine do?

L-Ornithine plays a vital role in the urea cycle. It is reported to help the body eliminate waste by detoxification. L-Ornithine can also stimulate the immune system, enhance the regeneration of the liver and accelerate the healing of wounds. L-Ornithine is widely used in bodybuilding and by athletes as it is it is believed to increase production of human growth hormone (HGH). Some suggest taking L-Ornithine at bedtime.
Ornithine increases polyamines levels; low polyamines are a possible biomarker for Alzheimer's disease. By increasing polyamines (which are known to facilitate the repair of damaged axons), Ornithine may be beneficial for Alzheimer's disease patients.
Health Leads L-Ornithine is sourced from L-Arginine which is fermented from corn.
